Just some of things we do

Here at Gables

WE RescuE UNWANTED & ABANDONED DOGS & CATS

We rehome and care for animals from all over Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and the Isles of Scilly. We care for 1000 dogs and cats every year. We either rehome them or re-unite them with their owners, if they are lost. Each day we care for around 80 dogs and over 100 cats, which is a lot for our staff and volunteers to look after.

WE Find DOGS & CATS NEW LOVING HOMES

We offer a bespoke and experienced rehoming service and treat all our animals and potential adopters as individuals. Therefore we don’t have any restrictive rules on rehoming. We believe that there is a special someone out there for every dog and cat, it is just a case of finding them.

We FUNDRAISE TO SECURE OUR FUTURE

We totally rely on the generosity and support of the public through donations and legacies, as we don’t receive any Government or other funding.

DOG & CAT BOARDING TO RAISE FUNDS

Going away and can’t take your cat or dog with you? By using our 5* boarding service you will directly help us shelter and rehome hundreds of unwanted and abandoned animals in your local area. All the proceeds made go straight back to the charity.

Pet Adoption

ADOPTING Dogs

Every dog that comes into Gables has a temperament assessment done by a qualified dog behaviourist, to determine what type of home will be suitable for them. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs you will need to complete a dog adoption application form. This asks questions about your home and lifestyle so we can match you to any potential dogs you may be interested in.

ADOPTING Cats

We have many cats of all breeds, ages and colours looking for a loving home. All we ask is that you live on a safe road so we can ensure all our cats have a safe and happy life.
