Badger is a handsome, weather beaten Gentleman full of character and a little tatty around the edges. This rugged man has a lifetime of stories and is looking for an indoor only home. This is because Badger is FIV positive, this is highly contagious to other cats so he cannot live with other cats or go outside. This way he can stay safe. He has done his time on the streets and has told us he is enjoying these home comforts more than he thought he would! He is not in the best of health so is looking for a home that can offer him a palliative retirement home.
Badger can be quite wary if he does not know you, and he will hiss to let you know you have got too close. Underneath all the bravado, he is just a scared little man who has had a tough time surviving on the streets. He will spend a lot of time in the safety of his igloo bed, but the way to lure him out for some bonding time, is opening up a lick e licks or two. He is very food oriented so will try to grab the whole lick e licks with his paws, so you just need to be mindful of your hands. He just gets so excited about food, that he forgets that he was frightened a minute ago!
He is searching for someone patient and understanding. They must have owned cats before (or have been owned by cat is probably the correct way to phrase it). Badger’s new owners will be someone who can appreciate that the best friendships take a little time. In return, Badger will reward you of being the chosen person of helping him feel safe, secure and finally at home.
If you can offer this deserving boy a peaceful home with minimal visitors, please apply for him. Our rehoming team can then see if you are a purrfect match 😻
