Hello there, my name is Chequers. I am a young girl with a gentle heart, but the world has been a little scary for me so far. I was found as a stray, and I am still learning that people can be kind and homes can be safe. I am a very nervous lady and I am looking for calm, patient humans who understand cats like me and can give me the time to settle at my own pace. I won’t be the type of cat who rushes over on day one for a fuss so it is important my new owners have no expectations of me. It may take weeks, it may take months or I may never be a cuddly girl, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be loved.

My purr-fect home would be calm and peaceful, without too much hustle and bustle. With someone experienced who can read my body language, respect my boundaries and help me build my confidence slowly. I am looking for somewhere that I can go outside once I am brave enough to. The outside world can also be a bit scary for me so a safe location is essential where there will not be lots of noisy cars.
