Hi, we’re Donie & Queen 💛🐾
We’re a bonded pair of ex-racing greyhounds looking for a calm, understanding forever home where we can stay together. Life after racing is still very new to us, so we’ll need patient humans who can help us learn what it means to be part of a family.

I’m Donie, the more confident half of the duo. I’m a gentle, affectionate boy who loves fuss and will happily rest my chin on your lap when I want more attention. I walk nicely on the lead, enjoy being brushed and generally take new things in my stride. My biggest job is helping my best friend Queen feel safe and supported as she builds her confidence.

And I’m Queen. I’m a sensitive girl who can feel worried when meeting new people or facing new situations, but having Donie by my side makes everything feel a little bit easier. I am very shy at first and need time to trust, but once I feel safe I’m gentle and sweet. I’m more confident when we’re out on walks and I do enjoy the company of other dogs once I’ve settled.

We thought we had found our forever home but sadly that didn’t work out for us, this time. Moving into a new home was scary and a little overwhelming, we are both going to need plenty of support to help us adjust to such a big change in our next home. We didn’t much like being left home alone, but that’s because we were in a scary new environment and we didn’t feel safe. We would love to find a family where someone can be at home to give us lots of reassurance and support before slowly showing us that we are safe when we are left. Because of our racing background we’ll need to stay on lead and wear muzzles in public, and we can’t live with cats or small animals, but we have always been used to it so this doesn’t bother us one bit.

We’re searching for a quiet home with experienced, understanding humans who have owned nervous greyhounds (or similar) before. A secure garden would make us very happy, giving us a safe place to stretch our legs and enjoy peaceful time together.
If you have a calm home and a big heart for two gentle souls who rely on each other, we promise to fill your life with quiet companionship, loyalty and plenty of loving moments. 💫🐕🐕
