Hi, I’m Silkie 🐾

I’m a busy, bright Springer Spaniel who absolutely loves life. If there’s something to sniff, explore or investigate, you can bet I’ll be right there with my nose to the ground, following the trail like it’s the most important mission of the day.

I really love people. Meeting new faces is one of my favourite things, and once I know you, I’ll happily shuffle up close for cuddles. I’m quite affectionate and I’m not shy about asking for more fuss when I want it… I think you’ll find I’m pretty hard to resist.

Toys are a big part of my world too. I love carrying them around and showing them off, and a game of fetch? Even better. I’ll bring the toy right back to your hand so we can keep the fun going. I already know how to sit, and I’d love to learn more with you, I’m a clever girl who enjoys having something to do.

I’m very good when it comes to being handled and groomed, so you won’t have any trouble looking after me. I also have lovely manners around food and I’m happy to share.

Now, I’ll be honest… I do find other dogs a bit tricky. I become very upset if a dog is confrontational with me, or overly excited, causing me to react in a way that most humans don’t like. However, some dogs I’m interested in (usually if they are quiet and ignore me) and I can walk alongside them nicely, but when things get too close or face-to-face, I can feel overwhelmed and react. Because of this, I need to be your one and only pet, so I can feel safe and settled.

When we go out for walks, I can be strong on the lead because there’s just so much to sniff and explore. I’ll need to wear my muzzle and special harness to keep me safe, and I’ll need someone who can guide me and help me make good choices.

What I’m really looking for is an active, understanding home where I can burn off my energy, use my brain and then curl up for cuddles at the end of the day. My new family will need to have experience in owning reactive dogs before, so that you understand why I feel the way I do and can support me in the best way possible when things get a bit heated.
