Hello, I’m Storm Eunice — I’m a handsome, sensitive boy with a past that hasn’t been easy, but I’m hoping the future holds something much brighter. I was once used as a hunting dog, and when I was no longer useful, I was taken to the vets to be put to sleep. Thankfully, the kind people here stepped in and gave me a second chance, and I’ve been waiting patiently ever since for the right person to come along.

I won’t pretend that I’m an easy dog — I take time to build trust. Strangers make me anxious, and I need to get to know new people slowly and at my own pace. The good news is, once I know you, really know you, I’ll show you just how loving and loyal I can be. When I trust someone, I’m the biggest cuddle bug — I love to rest my head in your lap and soak up every bit of affection. I’m gentle, warm, and deeply attached to the people I bond with.

Because of my worries around new faces, I’ll need someone who can visit me several times a week over a few weeks/months before taking me home. Those slow introductions help me learn that you’re safe, kind, and someone I can rely on. Once I’ve made that connection, I’ll be your shadow — devoted, affectionate, and endlessly grateful.

I sometimes enjoy playing with toys, especially when I’m feeling relaxed and happy, but play is usually short lived. I can be unpredictable with other dogs — I’m friendly with some and uncertain around others. If I like a dog, I enjoy playing gently off-lead in a safe area, but if I don’t feel comfortable, I can be reactive. Because of this, and because I am reactive when seeing strangers, I need to wear a muzzle and stay on the lead whenever I’m in public. That’s just part of keeping me (and everyone else) safe.

What I really need is someone patient, experienced, and understanding — someone who won’t rush me, who’ll give me space to grow in confidence, and who can see past my anxieties to the loving companion underneath. I promise, once I trust you, you’ll have a friend for life. Adopters must have owned a dog in the past that has displayed reactive behaviour towards people, or dogs, and have a very quiet home where I won’t have to encounter visitors

If you have the time, heart, and commitment to help a special boy like me learn that the world can be kind, then maybe you’re the one I’ve been waiting for.
