Hi, I’m Triton, a lovely ex-racing greyhound with a gentle heart and a calm soul. While I’m spending time inside here at the rehoming centre, I’m relaxed and easy-going, happiest when I’m near my people enjoying a bit of quiet company. I’m an affectionate boy who enjoys fuss, and I’ve been very good for all my handling and vet checks. I also rather like being brushed and will stand nicely while you make me look my best.

When it’s time for a walk, that’s when you’ll see my excited side. I get quite enthusiastic when I’m being dressed to go out because I really do enjoy my adventures. I walk nicely on the lead most of the time, although if I spot small furry creatures I might forget myself for a moment, so I’ll need you to guide me. I’ll need to stay on lead and wear my muzzle in public, and I’m looking for owners who understand and are happy with that.

Toys are still a bit of a mystery to me. I’ll look at them if they squeak, but I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to do next. Maybe you can show me. I’m very polite around food and happy to share my bowl and treats. As I’ve never lived in a house before, I’ll need some help learning the basics, including house training and everyday routines, but I’m a steady boy who just needs time and patience.

I really enjoy the company of other dogs. I greet nicely on lead and like a friendly sniff. When I have been mixed off lead in secure paddocks with another dog I like to sniff around and wander calmly, until the other dog starts to run. I get very excited for a little game of chase but I’m usually pretty good at reading the room, and if they’re not interested, I’ll settle back down.
