To be honest, I am a bit of a mixed bag. Deep down and in the right environment, I am a friendly and an affectionate girl who likes a bit of pampering by select humans. It may take me a while to get to this stage so please be mindful of this. If I don’t know you or if something makes me feel unsafe or unsure, I will hiss at you and try to nip you. I have bags of energy and so when I am comfortable with a person, I just want to play. Sometimes, I do not know where to put all this energy and I can get overstimulated which causes me to nip and swipe. Don’t get me wrong, I am not an aggressive cat but I have lots of energy for this little body to burn and if my boundaries are not respected I will let you know. Humans can verbally speak, I can’t, so it is my only way of letting you know I am uncomfortable. This is why I am looking for someone who has owned cats before so they can read my body language and understand me. Cats are complex little creatures and are often misunderstood. In my previous home, I was overstimulated a lot and this resulted in me being a little unhappy and unsure of new people when they try to get close to me. Once I feel settled, safe and secure, I will let you in on my sweeter side. When I do get to the stage of playing with you and being social, I will gently bite your hands or wrists to say “come on, please play with me!” If you stock up on those tasty Dreamies treats then I may come a little closer to you, food may be the way to my heart.
